TRAVELING IN
Our wedding is located in the West Loop area of the city — and there are plenty of ways to get here.
by plane
O’Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) are both easy options. Grab a taxi when you land, Uber / Lyft or hop on the L (elevated train) into the city. The L takes tap-to-pay.
by car
Bear the traffic and soak in the city views! Recommend SpotHero to avoid pricey hotel parking. Once you’re settled, walking, Uber / Lyft, public transportation (also takes tap-to-pay) or Divvy Bikes (via the Lyft app) will be easiest to navigate the city.
by train
For our STL or KC friends taking the train, you’ll arrive into Union Station. It’s easy to navigate coming into Chicago, but a little trickier heading home so be sure to give yourself plenty of time. The station is just a couple blocks over from our church, so depending on where you’re headed, it might be a short walk or a quick Uber.
We have locked in great pricing for a variety of hotels in the area, and Airbnb is a wonderful option too!

AIRBNB
For extra space or if you're looking to experience different parts of the city, Airbnb is a great option! Consider the following neighborhoods, and feel free to text Maddie and Mitch if you'd like a gut check before booking.
Lincoln Park — Where M&M live! A neighborhood feel with tree-lined streets, beautiful parks, the Zoo and plenty to do. Home to DePaul University, great restaurants along Halsted and Armitage, and a straight shot to the West Loop.
West Loop — Location of the wedding festivities! One of Chicago's trendiest neighborhoods, known for incredible restaurants, rooftop bars and fun nightlife. To be in the heart of the wedding action, this is the place to stay.
River North — A great middle ground, not far from the West Loop or downtown attractions. Filled with restaurants, cocktail bars, shopping and adjacent to tourist spots, it's a lively area with the iconic river walk.
Gold Coast — One of Chicago's most beautiful neighborhoods, known for its historic brownstones, upscale shopping and lakefront access. A great option if you want a quieter home base while still being close to everything.
Lakeview — A lively neighborhood (home to Mitch’s first Chicago apartment!) with a local feel, great restaurants, breweries and easy access to the lakefront. It's a fun place to experience everyday Chicago.
Wrigleyville — Home to the Cubs’ very own Wrigley Field and one of Chicago's most energetic neighborhoods. Expect sports bars, live music and a lively atmosphere. This is the furthest north we’d recommend for out of towners.
The Loop — Chicago's downtown district and home to many of the city's iconic landmarks, including Millennium Park (the Bean!), Maggie Daley Park (where M&M got engaged) and the Art Institute. A great option if you plan to do plenty of sightseeing during your visit. Keep in mind that outside of the main tourist areas, it tends to be quieter on weekends as the business district empties out.
